Maduru Oya National Park           

Maduru Oya National Park is a national park of Sri Lanka, established under the Mahaweli development project and also acts as a catchment of the Maduru Oya Reservoir. The park was designated on 9 November 1983.  Providing a sanctuary to wildlife, especially for elephants and protecting the immediate catchments of five reservoirs are the importance of the park. A community of Vedda people, the indigenous ethnic group of Sri Lanka lives within the park boundary in Henanigala.The park is situated





Kumana National Park 
 Kumana National Park in Sri Lanka is renowned for its avifauna, particularly its large flocks of migratory waterfowl and wading birds. The park is 391 kilometres (243 mi) southeast of Colombo on Sri Lanka's southeastern coast. Kumana is contiguous withYala National Park. Kumana was formerly known as Yala East National Park, but changed to its present name in 5 September 2006. 88 kilometres (179 mi) north-east of Colombo

 Wilpattu National Park 

Wilpattu National Park (Willu-pattu; Land of Lakes) is a park located on the island ofSri Lanka. The unique feature of this park is the existence of "Willus" (Natural lakes) - Natural, sand-rimmed water basins or depressions that fill with rainwater. Located in the Northwest coast lowland dry zone of Sri Lanka. The park is located 30 km west Anuradhapura and located 26 km north of Puttalam (approximately 180 km north of Colombo). The park is 131, 693 hectares and ranges from 0 to 152 meters above sea level. Nearly sixty lakes (Willu) and tanks are found spread throughout Wilpattu. Wilpattu is one of the largest and oldest National Parks in Sri Lanka. Wilpattu is among the top national parks world renowned for its Leopard (Panthera pardus kotiya) population. The Leopard population in Wilpattu is still not yet known.
Gal oya national park
Established in 1954 this serves as the main catchment area for senanayaka samudraya. About 150 species of birds have been recorded in this area. The lesser adjutant, spot-billed pelican and Red-faced malkoha are some of the park’s resident birds. The common water birds that can be found here are the Indian cormorant, oriental darter, grey heron, and lesser whistling duck.

Horton Plains National Park
Situated at an altitude of 2,100m, Horton Plains National Park is one of extraordinary scenic splendor. It is home to many of the endemic fauna and flora of the country’s wet and montane zones. the famous “worlds end” is a major attraction within the park.
Wasgamuwa National Park
Wasgamuwa is famous as an elephant habitat but is also home to leopard, sloth bear,sambhur, spotted and barking deer and wild boar. Wasgamuwa national park was originally declared a nature reserve as early on as 1938. The park lies within central and north-central provinces and consists of riverine forest , dry mixed evergreen forest, grassland and wetlands

Yala National Park
Located in the dry, southeast region of the island, and bordering the Indian ocean, yala national park is probably the most popular national park in sri lanka. It is home to many species including elephant, sloth bear, wild boar and sambhur, as well as a wide variety of bird and insect life
